FOCUS ONE in association with CQ4 Productions will be a resource, advisory, referral, and support group for the independent film, music, and visual arts community of greater Boston and New England.

It will be comprised of an executive core from the film, music, and art community. FOCUS ONE will be organized to raise money through benefits, charity, and networking events with the following goals:

• To hold workshops.

• To develop screen and stage plays.

• To produce films and soundtracks, music, photographic and mixed media art.

• To raise and disperse monies to develop the artists and their projects.

• To raise money for individual local charities.

Goal and Intention

Our goal for “the Intensive” was simple: to produce, edit, release, and promote the best possible film, under the category of “Ultra Low Budget”.

This project, in its modest inception, was to be a short feature shot on mini DV to showcase the talents of Boston’s cast and crew, and to illustrate the viability that a dialog-driven drama backed by a strong script could come to fruition.

But as it developed, the potential and obvious range beckoned the story to be produced as a true and legitimate Feature endeavor, shot on HD 24p w/ 35mm adapter.

The task and its parameters were established, and with a handful of local actors and preliminary executives, we set forth.

Having worked within a wide range of the acting and filmmaking community of Boston, the grapevine of friends and fellow artists within this community approached me, read the script, and offered their friendship, services and assistance to the project.

With the great attitude and spirit within this collective, we have now gone from an easily-reached initial budget and project goal level, to a much greater and reachable goal that identified the requirement for a much more advanced and aggressive crew, talent and cash.

Though still considered well within the industry standard of “Ultra Low Budget”, the necessity had identified itself as a base realistic need that matched the new level of interest and opportunity the buzz, as it were, from the storyline ,the Boston connection and the FOCUS ONE ideal.

I then decided to re-examine my long range goals & hopes for not only our Film, but CQ4 & FOCUS ONE…

It was a simple conclusion that revealed itself without edit… The Boston Art Community has long been the largest and most varied pool of underrated and best kept underdeveloped and underused talent in any major city.

There has never been a single, advisory, informational or organizational gathering place to reach out to for resource, which would provide qualified, and competent, functional contacts, information and officers to coordinate help, advice and realistic direction.

CQ4 Productions and FOCUS ONE have the ideal, vehicle and a executable plan….
