Synopsis:
By Approximately the year 2013, The Federal Government, in a 4 year 2 Billion dollar Washington funded Task Force initiative, had all but successfully eradicated the Italian Mafia, relegating it to the remains of its low profile fringe legitimate businesses.
This politically corrupt task force with ties to the top echelon of the growing & powerful modern gangs of ethnic Russian, Chinese and Black Mob factions were motivated by financial gains and ultimate power in what would be known as the worst period of disregard and violence in organized crime history.
A former task force agent, Anthony (Tags) Taglione (currently re-assigned to the FBI’s New York Bureau of Records Office, due to his refusal to continue participating in this obvious corrupt and ill-motivated initiative) takes it upon himself to coordinate a secret Government endorsed operation to take back the streets, his idea?
Re-form and resurrect “La Cosa Nostra”.
He does this by enlisting the help of one” Federico (Rico) Patriana” The former Underboss of the Boston Mob, who must join forces with Santina Castellani, the 1st women Don and survivor of the Mafia dissemination.
Together they form the unlikely alliance of Organized Crime & Government, that will prove to be not only dangerous and difficult in strategy of war, but its likelihood of success worsened when emotion, conscience and love become its minister’s worst enemies.
Commentary:
With the void left by the unparalleled success of the "Sopranos" a gap in edgy potentially iconic modern episodic drama has been left. My task (the task of any commercially attended writer) was to not re-write a "Sopranos/Goodfellas-esque story-line" but instead find a new twist exploring the genre by taking it to a totally new variable conclusion, direction and result, but not to venture to far beyond it's established and well known aspects. This story, journey's somewhat futuristically through what could likely transpire if this indeed happened.
